Recap of 2024 RegTech Symposium

The RegTech Symposium was held in Melbourne on 7 May 2024, and saw more than 50 people from the RegTech sector and Reporting Entities in attendance.

Co-hosted by AUSTRAC and the RegTech Association, attendees came together to hear how RegTechs can help businesses comply with their anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) obligations.

Katie Miller, AUSTRAC’s Deputy CEO Capability & Strategy, delivered the keynote address and was followed by speakers from AUSTRAC, the RegTech Association and other organisations.

Over three sessions, topics covered included the importance of transaction monitoring programs and quality reporting, as well as the outcomes achieved through financial intelligence.

Attendees were provided with valuable insights into AUSTRAC’s expectations, the value of quality reporting and how RegTechs and their technology solutions can support reporting entities to comply with their AML/CTF obligations.

The symposium is a fantastic opportunity for people from the RegTech sector to learn more about how AUSTRAC supports businesses to build resilience in our financial system and use financial intelligence to disrupt money laundering and other serious crimes.
