We are modernising the way you interact with us online by working to deliver a more streamlined, secure and user friendly online experience.
New security requirements following successful pilot
At AUSTRAC, security is fundamental. We are strengthening our online security requirements, as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security during your interactions with us.
In June 2025, we invited you to participate in the pilot of our enhanced online security features.
The pilot provided crucial insights into the user experience, including:
- business authentication method preferences and practicality
- cross-platform usability over different devices and browsers
- the importance of contingency options and clear recovery processes
- clear concise and actionable guidance, to support easy adoption for all.
The pilot is a part of our co-design approach to ensure that the security priorities and experiences of reporting entities directly shape enhancements AUSTRAC makes to our systems and channels. Thank you to all who participated.
We are changing how you log onto AUSTRAC Online
Having successfully completed our pilot, we are set to roll out multi-factor authentication to all AUSTRAC Online accounts between July and November 2025. We will notify you by email when it’s time to set up multi-factor authentication and create a new, stronger password.
