New and improved AUSTRAC Online coming in November 2025

AUSTRAC is launching a modernised AUSTRAC Online platform for the businesses who interact with us online.

The new platform will be available from 11:59 pm AEDT on Saturday 15 November 2025.

What will change?

The updated platform is designed to provide:

  • improved security with more flexible options
  • a more responsive, user-friendly interface that offers a seamless experience across all devices
  • enhanced self-service options and clearer guidance to assist with new features.

Mandatory security updates

AUSTRAC Online access will require two security updates: multi-factor authentication (MFA) and a stronger password, to better protect your account.

These changes will add an extra layer of security to the information businesses share with us.

When you access the new platform after 15 November, follow the prompts to set up MFA and your new, stronger password.

Planned system outage

There will be a planned AUSTRAC Online outage on Saturday November 15 2025 from 7:00am to 11:59pm AEDT to facilitate the launch.

During this period:

  • AUSTRAC Online will be unavailable
  • reporting entities (REs) will not be able to submit reports through AUSTRAC Online.

REs should make the necessary arrangements and inform affected staff of this outage period.

No changes to RE obligations

  • All existing functions will remain the same; REs will continue to use AUSTRAC Online for enrolment, registration, reporting and general interaction.
  • There are no changes to RE enrolment, registration, or reporting obligations under the AML/CTF Act 2006.
