If you’re a remittance service provider or virtual asset service provider (VASP), you must apply to renew your registration every 3 years. This is so we can reassess your suitability to continue to be registered.
If you don’t apply to renew your registration before it expires, you’ll no longer be registered as a remittance service provider or a virtual asset service provider.
It's against the law to provide remittance services and virtual asset services if you’re not registered.
How to renew your registration
You must renew your registration through AUSTRAC Online. We’ll send you a reminder email 90, 60 and 30 days before your registration expires.
Remittance network providers don’t receive reminders about their affiliates’ expiry.
- Log in to AUSTRAC Online.
- Select My Registrations in the Registration menu. Renew remitter registration or Renew VASP registration will appear under your registration details.
- If any registrations are due to expire in the next 90 days, you’ll see a Renew link.
- Select the Renew link to go to the form you need to complete.
- Once you've completed the form, press Submit.
- Upon submission, you will see a confirmation page that includes your submission receipt number. You can quote this for any enquiries about your submission.
- You’ll also receive a submission confirmation email that contains the submission receipt number, submission date and time. You can also access a copy of the submission details under the Submissions tab in the ‘Business Profile’ sub-menu within the Business menu.

Renewing your affiliates’ registrations
If you’re a remittance network provider, you must renew your affiliates’ registration in AUSTRAC Online before they expire. You can do this up to 90 days before the expiry date.
As part of registration renewal, you’ll need to confirm that:
- the affiliate’s registration and enrolment details are correct
- you have notified us of any changes to the affiliate’s details. This includes whether any key personnel have been charged, prosecuted or convicted of a serious offence, or been the subject of civil or criminal proceedings or enforcement action.
- Log in to AUSTRAC Online.
- Navigate to Manage Affiliates in the Registration menu.
- Select one or multiple affiliates to renew.
- Select Renew affiliate registration.
- Check all sections of the form then press Submit.
- Upon submission, you will see a confirmation page that includes your submission receipt number. You can quote this for any enquiries about your submission.
- You’ll also receive a submission confirmation email that contains the submission receipt number, submission date and time. You can also access a copy of the submission details under the Submissions tab in the ‘Business Profile’ sub-menu within the Business menu.
