From 1 July 2026, we’re introducing new threshold transaction report (TTR) and suspicious matter report (SMR) forms in AUSTRAC Online.
The new forms have been designed to make reporting simpler, while continuing to support AUSTRAC and our law enforcement partners in detecting and disrupting financial crime.
To help you prepare, we’ve published guidance and support materials on our website. These resources explain what’s changing, how the forms work and what support is available before the new forms go live.
Designed to make reporting simpler
We’ve updated both the report form questions and the reporting experience in AUSTRAC Online, reducing the amount of information you’ll need to provide. Overall, the changes will make reporting:
- simpler, with user-friendly forms
- easier, with less manual data entry
- quicker, with built-in checks to help you get it right the first time.
Resources to support the transition
We’ve published a range of resources to help you understand and use the new forms.
These include:
Transition arrangements for current reporting entities
For businesses enrolled with us on or before 30 March 2026, transition arrangements mean they don’t need to move to the new forms immediately.
Current reporting entities can continue using the existing forms until 30 March 2029 before transitioning to the new forms.
There are no changes to cross-border movement or international funds transfer reporting requirements.
Preview the forms in AUSTRAC Online
We’ve released a training environment in AUSTRAC Online so you can explore the new forms.
The AUSTRAC Online administrator of your business can assign user access to the training environment.
Use the training environment to preview the questions and test the new look and feel of the system.
Visit AUSTRAC Online to access the training environment and use the new forms.
