Reconciliation Action Plan

The AUSTRAC Reconciliation Action Plan 2010 represents a significant step for AUSTRAC in demonstrating our commitment to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community.

Achieving reconciliation involves raising awareness and knowledge of Indigenous history and culture, changing attitudes that are often based on myths and misunderstandings, and encouraging action where everyone plays their part in building a better relationship between all members of our community.

Our plan was developed by the AUSTRAC Reconciliation Action Committee and commits us to improving employment opportunities through the recruitment, development and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff. It recognises the diverse cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and commits to working across the agency to build respect and understanding of those cultures.
