Does your business have regulatory or reporting obligations to AUSTRAC under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act) and/or the Financial Transaction Reports Act 1988 (FTR Act)?
If it does (and AUSTRAC Online can help you determine this), you can set up online access for your business to AUSTRAC's electronic reporting systems through AUSTRAC Online.
How to access AUSTRAC Online for businesses new to AUSTRAC
Select the SIGN UP button on the AUSTRAC Online login page and follow the instructions.
To start, you will need:
- an email address, which will be your user identifier for accessing AUSTRAC Online
- details about your business, for example: business name, trading names (if any), contact information, business structure details and Australian registration or licensing details (such as ABN, ACN, ARBN, AFSL and/or trading name).
In order for AUSTRAC to create certain customised AUSTRAC Online settings for your business, you may also be prompted for:
- a classification of the nature of your business by type or industry sector
- information about business activity via a questionnaire relating to services (known as 'designated services') provided to your customers
- registrable details for businesses who are providers of designated remittance services
- other administrative information.
By providing this information, AUSTRAC can:
- establish what your business' obligations are under the AML/CTF and FTR Acts
- provide your business with a tailored AML/CTF compliance report (if required) based on your business type or industry sector and the designated services provided
- support your business in its obligations and keep you up-to-date with legislative changes and other important events
- assist your business in the future with staff training needs through e-learning and/or tailored presentations and onsite educational sessions.
Once your personalised online settings have been created, you will be able to view and update your business information as needed.
